ORLA KIELY SS11: From London With Love

Before the end of the month, let's celebrate one of my favorite lines of the past few fashion weeks: Orla Kiely. Super girly, 60s inspired and fun. I love her! Orla Kiely asked director Gia Coppola to present her spring/summer 2011 collection in a video that was officially unveiled in the Portico Rooms of Somerset House, kicking off London Fashion Week. {Love}

Being a Dickhead's Cool

Hyden Yoo

So cool to see Hyden Yoo making his mark in fashion. His lower-priced spring '11 collection "Standard Issue" features charcoal nautical stripes, crisp, khaki blazers, and plaids with plackets and Nehru collars, more reminiscent of Mark Twain than Marc Jacobs.

I'll say it again: New York Fashion Week edition

See ya, summer 2010 and hello to New York Fashion Week! This season, the extravaganza moves to Damrosch Park at the Lincoln Center complex, home to the renowned Metropolitan Opera house and American Ballet Theatre. My schedule so far includes Araks on Sunday, Pamella Rolland next Tuesday and more. (I'm like the fashion statue of liberty--give me your tired, aspiring and climbing)
I have no idea what I'll be wearing this week but if I was brave enough, I'd dress up Bob Mackie-style like Raquel Welsh or Cher in the clip below then without running home to refresh, I'd go headline a drag show at Duplex or something. That's what dynamic women do during fashion week, right?

Blow by Blow, a new play about the life of fashion icon Isabella Blow Premiers This July

An English magazine editor and international style icon, Isabella Blow fostered such talents as Alexander McQueen and milliner Philip Treacy. Best known for her extravagant fashion, she was the darling of the beau monde who tragically committed suicide in May 2007 after a battle with depression and ovarian cancer. Now, a new play about the life of the icon will premiere at the 11th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival next month. Titled Blow by Blow, the play is unrelated to the Blow film, which is being produced by John Galliano. But much like the movie, the stage presentation will depict her life and death.
